29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. a) On or about June 8, 2016, at the above addressed jobsite, employees performing residential roofing operations on a roof twelve (12) feet one (1) inch above the ground, were not protected from falls, thereby exposing employees to fall hazards. Bob's Roofing Crew was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 77314, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on September 21, 2011, with respect to a workplace located at 17003 Waterford Ave. Calumet City, IL 60409. |

Exception: When the employer can demonstrate that it isinfeasible or creates a greater hazard to use these systems, the employer shall develop and implement a fall protection plan which meets therequirements of paragraph (k) of 1926.502. On or about June 29, 2011 - at the above addressed jobsite, employees performing roofing operations approximately ten feet six inches above the ground, were not protected from falls. Thereby exposing the employees to fall hazards. |
