Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. On or about 22 May 2019, at a worksite located at 6 Beau Meade Rd, Oswego, IL. 60543, employees of ALL PRO EXTERIORS, INC. were working on a residential roof and were not using fall protection. Employees were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 9 feet. Abatement documentation is not required for this item. |

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer shall provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. On or about 22 May 2019, at a worksite located at 6 Beau Meade Rd, Oswego, IL. 60543, employees of ALL PRO EXTERIORS, INC. were working from an elevation greater than 9 feet on a residential roof. The employer failed to ensure an employee training program specific to fall hazards had been developed and maintained. Employees were thereby exposed to the hazards associated with falls from height. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d). |
