Citation text line 29 CFR 1926.416(a)(1): No employer shall permit an employee to work in such proximity to any part of an electric powercircuit that the employee could contact the electric power circuit in the course of work, unless the employee is protected against electric shock bydeenergizing the circuit and grounding it or by guarding it effectively by insulation or other means: a) Employees were exposed to electrical hazards where carpentry work was conducted within 12 inches of a service drop power line having a voltage rating of 120/240 volts. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
