Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. On or about July 26, 2018, employees performing tear off operations on the roof at a single-family property were exposed to a fall of approximately 8.7 feet when the employer failed to ensure that fall protection was utilized. No abatement certification or documentation is required of this item. |
