On or about February 14, 2023, employees working from a job made box were elevated 15 feet in the air by a JCB 524-50 Telescopic lift to perform residential framing and trim activities. Citation text line 29 CFR 1926.454(a):The employer shall have each employee who performs work while on a scaffold trained by a person qualified in the subject matter to recognize the hazards associated with the type of scaffold being used and to understand the procedures to control or minimize those hazards. On or about February 14, 2023, the employer failed to train employees on how to recognize and minimized fall hazards associated with working on scaffolds. Employees were performing trim work on a new residential home while standing on a job built basket that was being elevated by a JCB 524-50 Loadall. The platform was in excess of 15 feet and employees were not utilizing a fall protection system.
