29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) Primary fabrication shop - On or about February 8th, 2024, employees were exposed to amputation hazards created by the rotating blade of the Park Industries' Yukon Gantry-Type Diamond Saw (S/N:3-04-1417). The employer did not ensure that the machine was adequately guarded in order to prevent employees from coming into contact with the rotating blade. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d). |
