Wherever the engineering and work practice controls which can be instituted are not sufficient to reduce employee exposure to or below the permissible exposure limit, the employer shall nonetheless use them to reduce exposures to the lowest feasible level and shall supplement them by the use of respiratory protection which complies with the requirements of paragraph (f) of this section. Citation text line 29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): The employer did not provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new physical or health hazard the employees had not previously been trained about was introduced into their work area On or about April 10, 2012, employees in CRT Room were exposed to metal dusts, zinc oxide, from glass crushing operations. The employer failed to provide effective training to the employees. Abatement documentation is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
